We followed a day in the life of a first-year master's student.

  • There is no core time in our lab, but I came early today because I had a full schedule!

  • To the Animal Building
  • Check the status of the mouse.
  • 10:30
  • Experiment
  • Before the meeting, run the PCR test.
  • 11:00
  • Lab Meeting
  • Progress reports and paper reading sessions are held every Tuesday and Thursday.
  • 12:30
  • Lunch
  • I eat meals together with other students in the tea room. Today, my secretary made sushi rolls and soup for me!
    There are restaurants and a supermarket nearby, so sometimes I go shopping or have lunch to relax.

  • Experiments & Deskwork
  • Now that I'm full, I'll do my best with my experiment. While I'm waiting, I'll continue reading papers and analyzing data.

  • Snack time
  • I went to the tea room to get some sugar. There was coffee and snacks in the tea room. First come, first served!!

  • Experiments & Deskwork
  • The sugar is starting to flow nicely. I'll do my best with the rest!
  • 18:00
  • End of experiment
  • Today's experiment is over. I'm going to Kokubunji to drink with my seniors today.
